We currently have an opening for a Help Desk Specialist who thrives working face to face and is seeking opportunities for professional growth and technical development.

The Help Desk Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software, periphery equipment and network connectivity. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems and determines and implements solutions.

 

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support and answer questions - primarily in person but also via phone and email/chat as needed.
  • Walk employees and staff members through problem-solving process.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Maintain documentation of computer inventory, user lists/applications and other information as requested.
  • Set up new accounts for users.
  • Follow up with employees to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the end user.

 

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED with at least 5 years of experience in a help desk position or Associates degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years help desk experience and knowledge of Windows OS and Mac OS. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 - 5 years of help desk experience with Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification preferred. Person must be able to work out of our office in Lafayette, CO. This is not a remote position.

  • Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs - position requires ability to move and set up hardware, and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Ability to troubleshoot common software and hardware issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and a self-starter
  • Outgoing and friendly personality; ability to work with team members to solve their problems with a positive attitude
